LFSCC CSA Grant Applicant Webinar – 10/16

The Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food, and Markets is hosting an informational webinar on Thursday, October 16, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm that will provide an overview of the Local Food for Schools and Child Care (LFSCC) Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Grant application, a tutorial in WebGrants for how to apply, and live applicant Q&A.

This grant is intended to help Vermont-based early childhood providers increase local food access for children through the purchase of CSA shares. Successful applicants will receive a grant to cover the cost of a summer and/or fall CSA share. This year non-profits are allowed to apply as fiscal sponsors for individual childcare providers.

Alliance Monthly Equity Discussion – “The Status of DEI in New Hampshire” – 10/24  

Join a group of peers and colleagues from the early childhood community to engage in sustained learning about anti-racism, equity, and inclusion. The Alliance hosts a monthly, salon-style Equity Discussion Group via Zoom. Our next session is coming up on Friday, October 24, at 1:00 pm.

The discussion will be led by Sarah Robinson, the Program Partner for Movement and Coalition Building at the Couch Family Foundation. Sarah will provide us with an update on the status of DEI work in New Hampshire, including the latest on a bill recently passed by the Legislature that limits DEI efforts by publicly funded institutions. In the past decade Sarah has worked on a wide variety of issues in New Hampshire, including social and racial justice organizing, public education, and early care and education.

Maternal Health Strategic Plan Presentation – 11/12

The Maternal Health Innovations (MHI) team in the Vermont Department of Health’s Family Child Health Division and the Perinatal Quality Collaborative-VT will hold a virtual session on November 12, from 2:00 to 3:00 pm, with the Building Bright Futures Regional Councils where they will be presenting the draft priorities and strategies for Vermont’s Maternal Health Strategic Plan.

This overview session is open to all partners who support perinatal people and families with infants to provide feedback and ensure diverse voices shape the plan. Following the draft review, the team will preview next steps including the Maternal Health Task Force and the 2026 launch of the Regional Perinatal Quality Collaborative approach and MHI topical workgroups.

The Alliance crafts an annual Legislative Agenda in partnership with early childhood organizations, provides year-round advocacy support, and facilitates meaningful interactions with policymakers at key times during the decision making process.
