The Alliance is looking for more sponsors to support this day of advocacy for early childhood professionals, parents, employers, and policymakers.

Alliance Equity Discussion – “Addressing Housing Inequities for Families with Young Children" – 10/27

Join a group of peers and colleagues from the early childhood community to engage in sustained learning about anti-racism, equity, and inclusion. The Alliance has established a monthly, salon-style Equity Discussion Group via Zoom, and the next session is coming up on Friday, October 27 at 1:00 pm.

The upcoming session will focus on the impact housing inequities have on young children, and the programs working to address housing insecurity for families in Vermont. The discussion will be led by Jess Hyman, Associate Director of Housing Advocacy Programs for the Champlain Valley Office of Economic Opportunity (CVOEO). CVOEO manages the HOME Family Housing Voucher Program and other initiatives designed to increase housing equity.

Vermont Family Network Hiring

The Vermont Family Network (VFN) is hiring for two positions. The Family Support Program Co-Director, Health, will supervise and support staff who are serving families of children and youth with disabilities/special health needs and others around health, medical and developmental issues while working with the Co-Director of Education integrate supports and services for families and leverage all Family Support resources. The Family Support Consultant will provide family-centered health-related information and assistance to families and professionals

The Vermont Early Childhood Advocacy Alliance is a statewide coalition formed in 2000 of early childhood professionals, parents, organizations, businesses, and strategic partners committed to improving public policies that impact young children between birth and age eight in the areas of health, safety, food security, economic security, and early care and education.

The Alliance crafts an annual Legislative Agenda in partnership with early childhood organizations, provides year-round advocacy support, and facilitates meaningful interactions with policymakers at key times during the decision making process.
