Income Guidelines Increase for CCFAP

Effective October 6, the income guidelines for the Child Care Financial Assistance Program (CCFAP) will increase to 575% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL), an increase from the current limit of 400% FPL.  The income guidelines for CCFAP eligibility as of October 6th are available on the CDD website.

Families who may be newly eligible are encouraged to apply on or after October 6 by either completing the paper application or submitting in person or by mail to a local community child care support agency. Applications can also be submitted through the Child Development Division Information System Parent Portal.

Financial Assistance Available for Child Care Programs

Programs that accept Child Care Financial Assistance that improve or renew their STARS ratings and/or attain Specialized Child Care Status are eligible to receive monetary bonuses. These bonuses were created as a part of the Quality and Capacity Incentive Program within Act 76.  STARS bonuses are calculated using a formula based on the program’s size and type, and they are retroactive to July 1, 2023. This means any renewals and STARS rating improvements made after this date will count towards your bonus.

For more information on how the bonuses are calculated, review the overview of the Quality and Capacity Incentive Program. For further information, visit the CDD website.

VTAEYC Statewide Networks

Starting this fall, VTAEYC will expand its offerings with statewide networks specifically designed for different types of early childhood educators. These groups will come together on a monthly basis to discuss current needs, trends, updates, and information based on the groups needs. A facilitator will guide discussions, content, and may bring in outside speakers or trainers.

Those interested in participating can choose from these options and sign up for the most relevant group for your program: Preschool, Center-Based, Family Child Care Home Owners, Infant and Toddler.
