VTAEYC Kindergarten Conference – 3/20

The Vermont Kindergarten Conference will be held on March 20 at the Doubletree by Hilton in South Burlington, hosted by the Vermont Association for the Education of Young Children (VTAEYC). The Conference is designed for early childhood educators, principals, and curriculum directors throughout Vermont and will focus on ways to support the development of children’s literacy and language skills as well as social and emotional learning through stories and storytelling.

“Just Getting By” Film Tour – starts 3/22

The Vermont tour of the documentary film "Just Getting By" is launching on March 22. “Just Getting By” is a sweeping and yet intimate look at the lives of Vermonters who are struggling with food and housing insecurity. Vermont has the second highest rate of homeless people in the United States, right after California. One third of Vermonters struggle to put food on the table. This documentary focuses on these issues in the lives of everyday people.

Vermont Foodbank’s 2024 Hunger Action Conference – 5/3

The Vermont Foodbank is hosting their 2024 Hunger Action Conference on May 3 at the Killington Grand Hotel. This year’s conference will focus on the theme “Getting to the Root of Hunger, Together,”

The Conference will bring together existing network partners in addition to local non-profits, state government representatives, and other advocates to creatively address the issues of hunger in Vermont.

Register for ECDL 2024

Join us in person for the 30th Annual Early Childhood Day at the Legislature (ECDL) on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, in at the Capitol Plaza Hotel in Montpelier (note new date).

The issues on our 2024 Legislative Agenda will play central roles at this year’s ECDL, and we are filling the Day's schedule with informative sessions that cover all of our issues and more. 

Registration will be limited this year because of venue restrictions. We encourage you to register early! To register a group larger than five, please contact Taylor Hughey, Alliance Outreach Manager, at taylor@vecaa.org.

The Vermont Early Childhood Advocacy Alliance is a statewide coalition formed in 2000 of early childhood professionals, parents, organizations, businesses, and strategic partners committed to improving public policies that impact young children between birth and age eight in the areas of health, safety, food security, economic security, and early care and education.

The Alliance crafts an annual Legislative Agenda in partnership with early childhood organizations, provides year-round advocacy support, and facilitates meaningful interactions with policymakers at key times during the decision making process.
