Alliance Annual Meeting – One Week Left to Register!

Join advocates from around the state on the afternoon of May 28 at the Montshire Museum of Science in Norwich for the Alliance’s Annual Membership Meeting.

The event starts at 1:00 pm with registration, followed by workshops on the results of Alliance’s 2024 Legislative Agenda and an information session for new Alliance members. The Meeting will also feature elections for seats on the Alliance Steering Committee, and a panel discussion about the special characteristics of multi-year advocacy campaigns.

The Meeting concludes with a social hour and an opportunity to network with other members of the early childhood community.

VBSR Hiring for Public Policy Manager

Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility (VBSR) is hiring for a Public Policy Manager. The manager develops and implements VBSR policy programs and services in consultation with VBSR’s Executive Director, and works closely with VBSR’s Public Policy Committee, advocating for policy priorities developed by the committee.

Special Accommodations Grant Application Process Survey

The Vermont Legislature has tasked the Department for Children and Families (DCF) with submitting an implementation plan to streamline and improve the responsiveness and effectiveness of the Special Accommodations Grant application process.

To assist in the development of the plan, DCF is asking for feedback around inclusionary practices in child care through an online survey. The survey will remain open until noon on Tuesday, May 28.

 

BBF Announces Recipients of VECF Grants

Building Bright Futures (BBF) recently announced the recipients of their Vermont Early Childhood Fund (VECF) awards for spring 2024. The Fund supports creative solutions that will improve the well-being of children from the prenatal period through age eight, their families, and the Vermont communities in which they live.

The Vermont Early Childhood Advocacy Alliance is a statewide coalition formed in 2000 of early childhood professionals, parents, organizations, businesses, and strategic partners committed to improving public policies that impact young children between birth and age eight in the areas of health, safety, food security, economic security, and early care and education.

The Alliance crafts an annual Legislative Agenda in partnership with early childhood organizations, provides year-round advocacy support, and facilitates meaningful interactions with policymakers at key times during the decision making process.
