2023 Alliance Annual Membership Meeting Recap

The Alliance’s ninth Annual Membership Meeting was held earlier this week at the Montshire Museum of Science in Norwich. It was a successful day that brought together over 35 members of the Vermont early childhood community to hear updates from the 2023 Legislative Agenda, learn about being a member of the Alliance, hear from the DCF Commissioner Chris Winters, and learn about a funders’ view of advocacy from representatives from the Turrell Fund and the Couch Family Foundation.

Understanding New Core Knowledge and Competencies for Afterschool Professionals – 6/6

This September, Vermont will be adopting the National Afterschool Association’s Core Knowledge and Competencies for Afterschool Professionals. Vermont Afterschool will be hosting a forum on June 6, from 6:00 to 7:00 pm, to learn about the new Core Knowledge areas and how they will support professional growth in work with children and youth. They will also discuss how these new Core Knowledge and Competencies will impact the Afterschool Career Pathways.

BBF is Hiring for Two Positions – Deadline to Apply 6/12

Building Bright Futures (BBF) is hiring for a Data Manager and a Data Coordinator. Both positions will join BBF’s Data and Policy Team and the Vermont Early Childhood Data and Policy Center at vermontkidsdata.org to meet their goal of making data-informed decisions in Vermont’s early childhood system.

The Vermont Early Childhood Advocacy Alliance is a statewide coalition formed in 2000 of early childhood professionals, parents, organizations, businesses, and strategic partners committed to improving public policies that impact young children between birth and age eight in the areas of health, safety, food security, economic security, and early care and education.

The Alliance crafts an annual Legislative Agenda in partnership with early childhood organizations, provides year-round advocacy support, and facilitates meaningful interactions with policymakers at key times during the decision making process.
