Alliance Equity Discussion – "You Belong Here: Creating Relationships Rooted in Belonging and Allyship" – 6/20

Join a group of peers and colleagues from the early childhood community to engage in sustained learning about anti-racism, equity, and inclusion. The Alliance hosts a monthly, salon-style Equity Discussion Group via Zoom, and the next session is coming up on Friday, June 20, at 1:00 pm.

Our discussion this month will be focused on building a sense of belonging and allyship in the early childhood community. We’ll be led by Tessa Dearborn, the Executive Director of the Red Clover Children's Center and an "Equity x Young Children" Fellow with VT AEYC, who has been focusing on how to transform an understanding of personal biases and privilege into belonging and allyship.

The 6th Annual 3SquaresVT Conference, “Navigating Change with Hope”, will be held virtually on July 17. Change is coming fast, and what that means for the people in Vermont who rely on 3SquaresVT is not yet clear.

As federal threats to 3SquaresVT foreshadow troubling change, this conference is a space to gather in community, continue learning, and crystalize hope. The event is hosted by Hunger Free Vermont and the Department for Children and Families.

Registration and other information is available on the conference website.

Voices for Vermont’s Children has partnered with the Annie E. Casey Foundation to release the 2025 KIDS COUNT Data Book, a national and state-by-state project which presents national and state data from 16 indicators in four domains — economic well-being, education, health, and family and community factors — and ranks the states according to how children are faring.

This year, Vermont ranks 2nd in child well-being, reflecting mixed progress on 16 indicators across four domains- economic well-being, education, health, and family and community factors.
