2026 Alliance Annual Membership Meeting Recap

Last week, the Alliance held its 12th Annual Membership Meeting virtually after utility issues made our planned venue unexpectedly unavailable. The event centered on networking and information sharing, drawing more than 30 members of Vermont’s early childhood community.

The Meeting began with welcoming remarks from Matt Levin, Executive Director of the Alliance and a review of legislative developments related to the Alliance’s 2026 Legislative Agenda. Beverly Boget, the Public Engagement Director of the Alliance, led a New Alliance Member Orientation that shared information about the Alliance’s mission, governance, and functions.

The organizational business portion of the meeting opened with introductions by the Steering Committee members and staff. Matt then led elections for this year’s open Steering Committee seats. See the updated Steering Committee roster on the Alliance website.

As part of a Lieutenant Governor Candidate Forum, two of the candidates, Molly Gray and Ryan McLaren, were able to join virtually. They offered comments on a number of issues of interest to Alliance members.

Morgan Nichols, Community Liaison and Caseworker for Rep. Becca Balint, provided an update on the development of the federal FY27 budget, and her office’s ongoing work with the state’s early childhood community.

Matt closed the meeting with a few final remarks and thanked participants for their flexibility in making a last minute switch to a virtual meeting, and their dedication and commitment to Vermont’s young children and families
