VAHC Town Hall Meetings – Beginning 6/28

Starting later this month, the Vermont Affordable Housing Coalition (VAHC) will be hosting a once-a-month virtual Town Hall Meeting of their membership, legislators, and all interested Vermonters in each region of Vermont. The purpose of these meetings is to identify gaps and barriers to affordable housing, discuss solutions, and strengthen communities.​

Once you register, a VAHC staff member will be in touch with the agenda for the event and the Zoom information. Meetings are on the fourth Tuesday of the month from 7:00 to 8:30pm. The schedule of meetings is:

  • Northwest Vermont: June 28
  • Central Vermont: July 26
  • Northeast Vermont: August 23
  • Southeast Vermont: September 27
  • Southwest Vermont: October 25

Statewide Housing Conference Session Proposals – Deadline 6/30

The Vermont Housing Finance Agency (VHFA) is seeking proposals for sessions at their 2022 Statewide Housing Conference, to be held on Wednesday, November 16 in Burlington. This biennial conference brings together practitioners, community members, and policy leaders to support connection and innovation. 

This year’s Conference theme is “What YOU can do to solve the housing crisis.” The Conference planning committee is inviting the housing community to submit proposals for sessions at the Conference that speak to this theme. If you have an idea for a session you would like to facilitate, please submit a brief description of the session and answer a few questions about it by completing the short web-based form.  

Proposals will be accepted through June 30, 2022. Please direct any questions to conference@vhfa.org

 

CCFAP Rate Restructure Resources from CDD

The Child Development Division (CDD) held a Child Care Financial Assistance Program (CCFAP) rate restructure informational session on Thursday, June 2nd. The Vermont Early Childhood Advocacy Alliance is a statewide coalition formed in 2000 of early childhood professionals, parents, organizations, businesses, and strategic partners committed to improving public policies that impact young children between birth and age eight in the areas of health, safety, food security, economic security, and early care and education.

The Alliance crafts an annual Legislative Agenda in partnership with early childhood organizations, provides year-round advocacy support, and facilitates meaningful interactions with policymakers at key times during the decision making process.
