Alliance Equity Discussion – "You Belong Here: Creating Relationships Rooted in Belonging and Allyship" – 6/20

Join a group of peers and colleagues from the early childhood community to engage in sustained learning about anti-racism, equity, and inclusion. The Alliance hosts a monthly, salon-style Equity Discussion Group via Zoom, and the next session is coming up on Friday, June 20, at 1:00 pm.

Our discussion this month will be focused on building a sense of belonging and allyship in the early childhood community. We’ll be led by Tessa Dearborn, the Executive Director of the Red Clover Children's Center and an "Equity x Young Children" Fellow with VT AEYC, who has been focusing on how to transform an understanding of personal biases and privilege into belonging and allyship.

The Alliance's parent organization, the Vermont Community Loan Fund (VCLF), is a mission-driven, community-focused alternative lender that provides loans and other resources to local businesses, community organizations and nonprofits, early care and learning providers, and developers of affordable housing who don’t qualify for a loan from a traditional lender.

VCLF has released their 2024 Annual Report that highlights collaborations with state and federal agencies, mission-aligned nonprofits, impact investors, donors, and stakeholders, to help Vermonters forge new ways forward towards opportunity for all.

CDD Provider Payment Practice Survey – Due 6/20

The Vermont Child Development Division (CDD) is seeking to learn more about generally accepted payment practices of child care providers, including collecting payment in advance of providing care and mandatory registration fees.

As a reminder, CDD’s memo on Tuition Rates and Allowability of Additional Fees clarifies what additional fees may be collected for families who private pay and those who receive CCFAP.

The survey can be completed until June 20. The information collected will be used to ensure the State of Vermont is meeting federal funding requirements.
