VGN Mobile Garden Classroom Workshops

Vermont Garden Network’s (VGN) new mobile garden classroom is arranging site visits and workshops all around the state for the remainder of the 2022 gardening season. This new program seeks to engage community members of all ages in the importance of additional fruit and vegetable intake in their daily diets and increase climate resiliency through gardening.

Most workshops are around 1 to 1.5 hours in length and cover gardening skills, nutrition, and culinary preparation and/or preservation of freshly harvested fruits and vegetables.

For more information and to schedule a workshop for your organization, email the VGN Garden and Nutrition Program Manager, Cedar Schniewetz, at cedar@vtgardens.org.

Primary Day is August 9 – Remember to Vote!

Primary Election Day is getting closer here in Vermont, and early voting has begun. Now is the time to make sure your voice is heard in the upcoming election.

It’s easy to register to vote in Vermont, and you can even do it at the polls on Election Day. Vermont also makes voting early very easy. Absentee ballots are now available, and you can apply for one online on the Early and Absentee Voting page of the Secretary of State Website. You can also visit your local town clerk’s office to pick up an absentee ballot in person.

All ballots must be returned to the town clerk’s office before the close of the office on the day before the election, or to the polling place before 7:00 pm on the day of the election, in order to be counted.

For more information on voting locations, early voting, and registration, visit the Secretary of State’s election website.
