BBF State Advisory Council Meeting – 7/28

The Building Bright Futures State Advisory Council (SAC) will be meeting virtually on Monday, July 28, from 1:30 to 3:00 pm. The main purpose of the meeting is to provide a forum for SAC members and members of the public to share current needs and challenges impacting children and families to help inform the upcoming update to Vermont’s early childhood strategic plan.

BBF Announces VECF Recipients

Building Bright Futures has announced the latest recipients of their Vermont Early Childhood Fund (VECF) awards. The fund supports creative solutions that will improve the well-being of children from the prenatal period through age eight, their families, and the Vermont communities in which they live.

VTAEYC Exchange Fellow Application 2025

The Vermont Association for the Education of Young Children (VTAEYC) is now accepting applications for the 2025 VTAEYC Exchange Fellowship. They will select up to eight new Fellows (two per intersection) to engage in a nine-month Fellowship with the organization and the greater community.

Early Childhood Leadership Institute – Applications Due 8/17

The Snelling Center for Government is now accepting applications for their Early Childhood Leadership Institute (ECLI). 

ECLI was initiated in 2014 and seeks to stimulate enthusiasm for and effective participation in efforts to improve early childhood work in Vermont. In twelve seminar days over six months, participants gain leadership skills and a deeper knowledge and understanding of themselves as leaders and the science and landscape of early childhood issues in Vermont.

The ’26 ECLI Class will begin its training in November. Applications are due August 17. For more detailed information including program fees and expectations, visit the Snelling Center website.

 

VTAEYC Annual Conference – 10/22 – 10/24

The ‘25 VTAEYC Annual Conference will be held at the Hotel Champlain Burlington from October 22 to 24. This year’s conference theme, Rhythms of Learning: Unlocking the Power of Creativity, will explore how creativity can enrich the work with young children and enhance both play and development. 

Registration for VTAEYC and NAEYC members opens Monday, July 28. Non-Member registration opens Monday, August 4.

The Vermont Early Childhood Advocacy Alliance is a statewide coalition formed in 2000 of early childhood professionals, parents, organizations, businesses, and strategic partners committed to improving public policies that impact young children between birth and age eight in the areas of health, safety, food security, economic security, and early care and education.

The Alliance crafts an annual Legislative Agenda in partnership with early childhood organizations, provides year-round advocacy support, and facilitates meaningful interactions with policymakers at key times during the decision making process.
