Let’s Grow Kids Candidate Contact Tool

Let’s Grow Kids (LGK) has created a new way for advocates to connect with candidates running in the upcoming August 9 Primary Election.

With this new Candidate Contact Tool, you can ask your local and statewide candidates where they stand on investing in early childhood education, what they will do to help transform early childhood education in our state, and, if you wish, share your personal experiences.

Ethnic Studies and Social Equity Standards Advisory Working Group – Application Deadline 7/31

The Education Justice (EDJ) Coalition, whose mission is to promote justice for all students in the Vermont education system, is accepting applications for participants in a paid Ethnic Studies and Social Equity Standards Advisory Working Group.

This new group will meet monthly to help schools better support the needs of young people PreK-12th grade who are underrepresented or marginalized such as students of color, Indigenous students, students with disabilities, and LGBTQIA+ students. The group will do the important work of recommending to the State Board of Education educational standards and policy that support these students.

After the application deadline on 7/31, Coalition members will contact the finalists for interviews, including checking on references, and next steps.

Schedule an Advocacy Training

Do you see an early childhood policy challenge in your community and want to be part of a legislative solution? Do you want to engage in the legislative processes that result in policies and budgets that benefit Vermont children and families? Do you have questions about how the legislative process works, and how your voice can be heard?

The Vermont Early Childhood Advocacy Alliance offers advocacy trainings to groups around the state to explore early childhood policy issues and solutions and to support effective interactions with policymakers in future legislative sessions. Training topics include:

Trainings are available to any group and can be tailored to the interests of the audience and time available – and can be incorporated into existing conferences, meetings, and other events. Professional development credit from Northern Lights at CCV is available.
