Registration Open for Vermont Afterschool Conference – 11/6 and 11/7

Registration is now open for Vermont Afterschool's 15th Annual Conference. The Conference will be held Thursday and Friday, November 6-7, at Lake Morey Resort.

Thursday will feature a half-day, professional development deep-dive specifically for out-of-school time directors and site coordinators. Friday will once again bring together Vermont’s out-of-school time directors, staff, educators, partners, and champions for a full day of workshops across three breakout sessions, networking, and a celebration of the important work you do for Vermont’s children, youth, families, and communities.

For more information and to register, visit the Vermont Afterschool website.

HFV 3SquaresVT Video Translation Project

Hunger Free Vermont (HFV) partnered with the Vermont Language Justice Project and the State of Vermont on a video translation project in order to provide clear information about the fact that some immigrant populations will no longer qualify for 3SquaresVT/SNAP (including refugees, asylees, and other humanitarian immigrants) because of recent changes to eligibility.

These unfortunate changes in eligibility will impact an estimated 1600 people in Vermont who currently get 3SquaresVT to support their grocery costs.

See the translated videos on YouTube and share them with your network.

The Vermont Early Childhood Advocacy Alliance is a statewide coalition formed in 2000 of early childhood professionals, parents, organizations, businesses, and strategic partners committed to improving public policies that impact young children between birth and age eight in the areas of health, safety, food security, economic security, and early care and education.

The Alliance crafts an annual Legislative Agenda in partnership with early childhood organizations, provides year-round advocacy support, and facilitates meaningful interactions with policymakers at key times during the decision making process.
