NOFA Farm Share – Applications Due 8/31

The Northeast Organic Farming Association of Vermont (NOFA) Farm Share Program provides fresh, local foods to Vermonters in need of financial assistance via CSA shares reduced 25-75% in cost. 

The Farm Share Program was established for Vermonters to access more healthy, local food while ensuring farmers are fully compensated for their work. The program has grown from serving a dozen individual families and three farms in 1995 to over 500 Vermont families and more than 60 farms in 2023.

Applications are due August 31 or until the funds run out.

LGK Future of Child Care Event – 9/3

Let’s Grow Kids (LGK) is hosting a discussion about the next steps for Vermont’s Child Care Campaign on Wednesday, September 3, at Hula Lakeside in Burlington from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.

The event, “Growing Vermont: A Conversation on the Future of Child Care,” will include new data on Vermont’s child care progress and the gaps that remain, a town hall–style conversation with local and national early childhood leaders, an introduction to the organizations leading the next phase of the campaign, and a cocktail reception to connect and celebrate together.

Common Good VT Nonprofit Town Hall Event – 9/10

Common Good VT is hosting a virtual town hall on September 10 at 1:00 pm that will address recent federal executive orders and their impact on the state’s nonprofit sector. This event will provide an overview of key federal actions, a deeper look at Vermont’s response and legal action related to federal overreach, and analysis of what’s at stake.

Attorney General Clark will be joined by Rebecca Ellis, State Director for Senator Welch’s Office, who will provide additional insights into the policy and legal impacts of recent federal actions on nonprofits and Vermonters.

Quality and Capacity Incentive Payment Applications Open – Due 9/15

Vermont's Department for Children and Families Child Development Division (DCF/CDD) is now accepting applications for the new Annual Quality and Capacity Incentive Payment. Created through Act 76 to support Vermont's child care, preschool, and afterschool programs, this payment is aimed at strengthening quality, access, and inclusion.

To be eligible, an afterschool program must be licensed in the State of Vermont, be open and serving children, intend to stay open through at least June 2026, and be willing to accept payments from the Child Care Financial Assistance Program. The application period is from now through September 15 with payments beginning in late September 2025.
