Applications for the Early Childhood Leadership Institute Class of 2025 Now Open

The Snelling Center has opened recruitment for the next Early Childhood Leadership Institute cohort. The Institute, funded by the Child Development Division, brings together a group of diverse participants for twelve seminar days over six months starting in November 2024. The cohort will gain leadership skills and a deeper knowledge and understanding of the science and landscape of early childhood issues in Vermont.

The application deadline to join the 2025 cohort is September 1. Early childhood educators who work directly with children are strongly encouraged to apply, although all individuals affiliated with the early childhood system will be considered.

Review the Institute’s website for more information and the application.

Primary Election Results, General Election Ballots to be Mailed

Results from the August 13 Primary Election are still being finalized, but the outcome of those races have begun to clarify what the makeup will be of the Vermont Legislature in 2025. Good sources for media coverage of the results include the VTDigger and VT Public websites. You can find a link to the full official results here.

In the coming days, the Secretary of State will be finalizing what candidates will be on the ballot for the November 5 General Election. That includes candidates added through write-in campaigns, Independent candidates, and minor party candidates. Absentee ballots for the General Election will be automatically mailed to all active registered voters, not later than October 1, 2024.

You can find out more about the status of your voter registration, where to vote in person, and other important information at the Secretary of State's "My Voter" page.

2025 Legislative Agenda Process Open

The Alliance is now accepting applications for our 2025 Legislative Agenda. The Alliance’s annual Legislative Agenda is crafted in partnership with early childhood organizations that are advancing policy solutions through the legislative process.

The Alliance’s Steering Committee invites proposals by organizations for consideration during the Agenda-setting process. Issues that are selected will make up the 2025 Legislative Agenda. The proposing organization will be established as the “lead organization” on legislative and advocacy strategy.

Visit the Alliance website to download the application documents and see the process timeline.

The deadline for submissions is Thursday, September 19, at 12:00 pm.
