Introducing the Alliance's New Outreach Manager - Taylor Hughey

The Alliance is pleased to announce that this week Taylor Hughey has joined our staff as our new Outreach Manager.

Taylor comes to advocacy through teaching. She has been a music educator for many years, working with students ages PreK through university. She lived in Los Angeles for five years, where she was a professional trombone player while attending graduate school and is still a sponsored performing artist with Courtois trombones. After graduating, she moved overseas to teach in the Shandong province in China as a Professor of Music at Heze University. Following that, she moved to Kampala, Uganda, where she was the Head of Brass Development for Brass for Africa. She has lived in Vermont since 2019, working most recently as an elementary school music teacher.

Taylor holds a Doctoral degree and a Master’s degree from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee. She lives in Newport with her husband and cat. She can often be found practicing her trombone, rowing, or reading a good book.

Please join us in welcoming Taylor to our team! Visit our website for a full bio and contact information.
