Nonprofits, Voting, and Civic Engagement Webinar – 9/15

Common Good Vermont and the Office of the Vermont Secretary of State are hosting a “Nonprofits, Voting, and Civic Engagement” webinar on September 15, from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm, to introduce new tools and programs designed to help nonprofits strengthen voter engagement across Vermont communities. The session will also provide insights from a panel of nonprofit leaders about civic engagement activities, and answer questions about how organizations can get involved while remaining non-partisan.

Start Up Child Care Business Boot Camp – Begins 9/16

First Children’s Finance is holding a virtual Child Care Business Boot Camp with Northern Lights to help new child care providers learn the basics of running a successful business.  Topics will include budgeting, marketing, and business planning. The session will be hands-on and practical, with real life examples and group work.

The Vermont Council on Rural Development (VCRD) is hosting their annual Vermont Community Leadership Summit on October 6 at Vermont State University Castleton. The Vermont Early Childhood Advocacy Alliance is a statewide coalition formed in 2000 of early childhood professionals, parents, organizations, businesses, and strategic partners committed to improving public policies that impact young children between birth and age eight in the areas of health, safety, food security, economic security, and early childhood education.

The Alliance crafts an annual Legislative Agenda in partnership with early childhood organizations, provides year-round advocacy support, and facilitates meaningful interactions with policymakers at key times during the decision making process.
